Patrick Fernet, Chairman of the Board ( interim )
Mr. Fernet is a lawyer having received his law degree from
the University of Montreal. Over the past 12 years, he has
been working as a legal consultant on business and financial
matters for small cap emerging companies. Since 2002, he has
been advising VVC on various legal matters and assisted the
company to complete various acquisitions, including the recently
acquired Beaver Brook antimony mine and Xing Tong gold mine,
before being named chief executive officer in May, 2004. As
the vice-president corporate and legal affairs of VVC, Mr.
Fernet is in charge of all legal, regulatory and corporate
affairs of the company.
Michel Lafrance, Director
Mr. Lafrance is a graduate of the University of Ottawa. He
has been the Secretary-Treasurer and a Geological Consultant
to the Company since December 2002. He has also been a Geological
Consultant and Corporate Secretary and/or a director of a
number of public resource exploration companies since 1980.
He is currently also the Corporate Secretary of OPEL International
inc. (formally Tandem Resources Ltd.)
Peter Dimmell, Director
Mr. Dimmell is a geologist with 35 years of experience in
exploration and mineral development with major and junior
mining companies and as a consultant. He is a professional
geoscientist registered with the Professional Engineers and
Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador and is a member
of professional associations including the Geological Association
of Canada, the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and
Petroleum and the Society of Economic Geologists. He was Vice
President and then President of Ming Minerals Inc., when that
company developed and mined the Ming West massive sulphide
deposit on the Rambler Mines site on the Baie Verte Peninsula
of Newfoundland. He is a director of three other junior mining
companies listed on the TSX venture exchange. Well known and
highly respected in the Newfoundland and the Canadian mining
industry , Mr. Dimmell is a member, a director and the current
President of the Prospectors and Developers Association of
Canada ( PDAC ) and is a director of the Newfoundland and
Labrador Chamber of Mineral Resources.
Henri Baudet, Director
Mr. Baudet began his career in the banking industry in 1970
in Geneva, Switzerland, where he held different management
positions in several fields such as administration, stocks
and bonds, financial management and corporate finance. In
1989, he became Director of JP Jordan & Cie SA, a renowned
portfolio management company in Geneva. In 1997, with other
partners, he founded his own company, AS-B & Cie SA, which
is based in Geneva and dedicated to asset management for private
clients. Over the years, Mr. Baudet has developed a great
knowledge in financial mechanisms as well as an impressive
list of contacts in the financial community.
Daniel Grenier, Director
Mr. Grenier has been a very succefull Stock Broker at the
National Bank of Canada. Mr.Grenier also has a Bachelor Degree
in Finance, from the Laval University.
Martin Crête, Director
Since 2002, Mr. Crete has been working for Canadian Imperial
Bank of Commerce as a financial adviser. Mr. Crete has over
10 years of experience in the investment industry having worked
for several of Canada's largest financial institutions.
