VVC EXPLORATION CORPORATION (“VVC” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. René Dufour as a director of the Company and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporation. The current Chairman, Mr. Jean-Paul Boily,will remain President and CEO of VVC.

Mr. Dufour’s appointment comes at an exciting time for VVC as it strategically positions itself in gold development in China. Mr. Dufour, a professional mining engineer, will bring strong expertise in
exploration, exploitation, management and project evaluation to the Board of VVC. He will surely provide a strong and solid support to the management team of the Company while it expand its activities in China.

Mr. Dufour began his career in mining exploration and as such carried exploration in several mining districts of Quebec. He later became involved in production and worked as Planning Engineer, Pit Engineer, Chief Mining Engineer and Mining Superintendant of a 100,000 tonne per day operation.

Mr. Dufour served on the Board of Director of many mining companies such as Noranda Inc. (1988-2002) and SOQUEM. He currently serves on the Board of NIOCAN INC., a company that he cofounded in 1995 and was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer until 2005 and on the Board of Mines Cancor, a mining exploration company operating in Quebec.

Over the years, Mr. Dufour has also held the following positions or earned the following awards:

• President of the Fondation Polytechnique (2001-2002);
• Full Professor and Director of the Mineral Engineering Department, École Polytechnique de Montréal;
• Assistant to the President of l’École Polytechnique;
• President, Association des diplômés de Polytechnique;
• Consultant to the World Bank, the United Nations, Hydro-Quebec, the Canadian
International Development Agency (CIDA), the Quebec Securities Commission and numerous mining companies;
• President of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM);
• Chairman of the CIM Centennial Corporation (1994-1999), and Chairman of the CIM
Foundation (1991-1997) which he co-founded in 1972 and is currently a trustee.
• Grand Prix of Excellence (2003) from the Quebec Order of Engineers.
